Louis Cartier designed the Tank in 1917, taking his proportions from the top view of a Renault FT tank moving across the Western Front. What he saw in those tracks — the rectangular case body, the bracelet as a natural extension, the clean legibility of Roman numerals — became one of the most copied watch designs in history. The Tank MC is the modern mechanical version: 34.3x44mm steel case, calibre 1904 MC, Breguet hands. The geometry hasn't changed because geometry, when it's right, doesn't need to.
