Panerai Submersible - Luna Rossa

Panerai built the PAM01565 Submersible Luna Rossa as a collaboration with the America's Cup sailing team — which means it had to survive both the sea and the spotlight. The solution was Carbotech: a material so dark it seems to absorb light rather than reflect it, lighter than titanium, and utterly indifferent to corrosion. The P.9010 calibre inside runs 72 hours on a single wind. The red accents — bezel ring, strap, the Luna Rossa livery — hit like a flare against the dark grey sandwich dial. This is what happens when Italian design decides to go to work.
