Ian Archibald — Founder, Sublime.Time

 

Some passions arrive early. Ian Archibald’s began before he could speak — brought home from a northern Maine hospital in a wicker basket, tucked into the back of his father’s Porsche 356B. His father was a fighter pilot. The unconventionality was inherited.

 

What followed was a life lived at altitude — literally and otherwise. Ian flew attack aircraft at low level through hostile environments across Europe and the United States, test-flew and troubleshot supersonic jets fresh out of maintenance, and designed complex international air shows. Between those chapters: black sheep raised on an organic farm in wine country, volcanoes climbed in Mexico, the Himalayas walked alongside a British explorer, houses built in ski country, daffodils grown in New York.

 

A life like that trains the eye.

 

Ian calls it the Hand of the Artist — that quality of intention and mastery present in anything made at the highest level. It’s the principle that guides Sublime.Time: technical sophistication in service of exquisite craft. Every piece here has been chosen through that lens.
